Global Environmental has been awarded certification against ISO 17020:1998, the standard of competence for inspection bodies by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). The announcement follows a through independent audit of Global’s systems and capabilities by UKAS.
The accreditation will give existing and prospective clients confidence in the technical competence of Global Environmental asbestos inspection service says Managing Director, Mike Jones:
“The UKAS badge provides clients with reassurance that we have the skills, knowledge, experience and management systems in place to deliver technically competent surveys and advice on a consistent basis. UKAS will continue to audit us on a six-monthly basis to ensure these high standards and our performance are being maintained.”

The United Kingdom Accreditation Service is the sole national accreditation body recognised by government to assess, against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
Global Environmental has updated its corporate identity to coincide with a re-structuring of the organisation. The company has moved its headquarters to the Central London and has expanded its portfolio of service to include pollution monitoring, consultancy on remediation, waste and carbon management, and a suite of new training courses.
The re-branding package which was carried out for the company by marketing agency Handmade Marketing, includes a new corporate identity, website and marketing communications.
Social housing contractor Apollo Housing has appointed Global Environmental to carry out refurbishment asbestos surveys in 300 properties to support their Decent Homes Kitchens & Bathrooms upgrade programme for Dacorum Borough Council in Hertfordshire.
The £50k contract is due to complete in September 2011.
