Fergus McCloskey | Managing Director
Fergus joined the board at Global in 2011 tasked with developing the business and marketing for the company. This encompasses brand development and the diversification of the company’s core skills base from asbestos management to include energy assessments, fire risk management, DDA compliance and water hygiene. Through working closely with clients he has developed an appreciation and knowledge of the environmental process which he is able to implement to help shape strategy and business development at Global.
Fergus comes from a background in PR and has been running Handmade Marketing, a consultancy which specialises in developing business in the Construction Sector, since 2009. He holds a BA Hons in Social Science.
Michael Gunn | Senior Project Manager
Michael has been working in the asbestos sector since 2002. He joined Global in January 2018 from Adamsons Laboratory Services where, latterly, he was a Quality Manager, ensuring that asbestos services met internal and external standards. Previously he worked at Thames Laboratories and Mackenzie Asbestos Environmental Consultants in the roles of surveyor, in the lab and as a Regional Manager.
He has extensive experience of all the disciplines involved in asbestos management for major private and public sector clients. His skills include surveying, client liaison, quality management, estimating and risk assessments. Michael's qualifications include: P401, P402, P403, P404 and Confined Space training.
Richard Gravenor | Quality Manager
Richard joined Global in January 2013 to provide specialist technical consultancy on all matters relating to asbestos. He maintains Global’s UKAS accreditation and the consistent high quality of work that it requires. He has 15 years’ experience in the asbestos industry and extensive knowledge of both ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 having worked in both the surveying and testing environments. His professional qualifications include: CIEH Professional Trainer Certificate – Certificate Credit Pass, BOHS Certificate of Competency in Asbestos, BOHS S301 – Asbestos and other fibres – Credit Pass, BOHS P401 – Identification of Asbestos Fibres by PLM, IOSH Managing Safely Certificate, BOHS Approved Practical Assessor – P401, P402, P403, P404, P405, P406.
Paul Riding | Project Manager
Paul joined the Global team in October 2017 and has a wealth of experience in the asbestos industry having worked in asbestos removal, surveying and office-based management positions.
Paul starting as Removals Supervisor with Forest Environmental in 2001, was then promoted to Removals Contracts Manager and then after a year in USA returned as Operations Manager.
As project manager, Paul will be involved with the full mix of work whether that be surveying, overseeing removal works or quality reviewing. He is also qualified to carry out fire risk assessments.
Paul Scholes | Health & Safety Manager
Paul is responsible for maintaining Global’s Health & Safety management system and prepares documentation for work procedures and monitors the inspection programme. He has worked in health and safety for over 25 years, specialising in asbestos. Paul has a degree in Civil Engineering, is a Member of the Institution of Safety and Health (MIOSH) and P402.
