Global appoints new Operations Manager

Global Environmental has appointed Paul Phillips as the new Operations Manager.  Paul has been working in the asbestos sector since 2003 and has extensive experience and qualifications in all the disciplines involved in asbestos management for major blue-chip, retail and public sector clients.

Hpaulphillipse joined Global in November 2014 from Redhill Analysts Ltd where we had spent three years as a Regional Operations Manager. Previously he has worked at Armstrong York in various capacities including Project Manager at Coryton Oil Refinery managing the site’s asbestos requirements against the challenging back drop of an industrial environment. He has also worked as an analyst for the London Borough of Greenwich and for Environtec.

“We are delighted to have Paul on board,” says Global’s Managing Director, Fergus McCloskey. “Following his success regionally at Redhill I look forward to watching Paul develop a whole business at Global.”

Paul will be managing his team whilst looking for new business opportunities and ways of adding value to the business. He is also driven by the desire to eliminate the risk from some work and home environments. “Health and safety affects us all” says Paul, “and if I can make an inroad into other people’s safety then I’ve done a good day’s work.”

“Asbestos is part of the fabric of so many twentieth century buildings and it poses a particular risk to construction industry workers. I always try my best to mitigate that risk, initially by providing the training to educate the workforces involved and secondly to manage the process as efficiently as we can.”

Paul is the consummate people person and really enjoys the opportunities for training and networking that the job also offers.  When he is not working Paul pursues his career as a foodie, enjoying both cooking at home and trying out new restaurants (and some old favourites).  And when he has a moment to relax he enjoys watching football.
