Leigh Dennison-Jones joined our Admin team in the Sawbridgeworth office last year as a Contracts Administrator.
What was your experience before coming to work at Global?
I have had many years’ experience working in varied office-based roles from Reception, Sales Admin to Finance. The longest part of my career was 12 years as a PA for a large multi-national pharmaceutical company specialising in animal health products. I was heavily involved in event organising, dealing with customer contracts and supporting field-based representatives.
And you started right at the start of the pandemic! How was that?
Having started in March 2020 it was a slower introduction to the role, what with working from home initially. It was definitely a different experience to starting a new job, but the team were really helpful and fortunately we were able to get back into the office by the summer with new Covid procedures in place which I helped implement. Ensuring the team were fully equipped with PPE for essential visits and now ordering lateral flow tests to make sure we’re keeping safe.
And what about now? Now things are (hopefully!) getting back to normal!
Oh I’ve definitely got into the routine of working for Global Environmental now; my daily tasks now include booking samples in prior to testing, invoice prep, and general admin. Basically, I work behind the scenes to keep the office running smoothly.
What about outside of work? Any hobbies?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, my three children, Labrador and two rabbits, all of which keep me busy! I enjoy being outdoors; walking with our dog and I have a keen interest in gardening. The last couple of years I’ve been growing my own produce, which the children have really enjoyed planting and picking too.
