Project Management

Global Environmental has the resources and expertise to provide a comprehensive asbestos removal project management service to public and private-sector clients. We are often retained to project manage the removal process following asbestos surveying and have considerable experience and expertise in this discipline. Our project management skills ensure the asbestos removal project is successful, with the minimum possible timescale, costs and disruption.

The tendering process

We manage the tendering process and select a suitable contractor to carry out the works, with your approval. Our team prepares, circulates and reviews Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and Invitations to Tender (ITTs) and attends interviews. We advise you on identifying the most suitable contractor. We are independent of all contractors, and have direct experience of working wi9th many of them.  The tendering process is always completed in full compliance with the client’s tendering procedures.

Preparing specifications

We have the technical expertise to prepare specifications that explain in detail the quantity and location of the Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) and the methodology to be used in removing it. Many members of our surveying team have practical experience of asbestos removal which is used to inform and refine the documentation.  Our Project Manager can also prepare a detailed programme of works.

Supervising the removal

We supervise the removal process itself. This involves:

  • liaising with the facilities/building manager
  • scheduling and managing individual works packages including arranging third party services (e.g. air testing)
  • supervising the works
  • collating the documentation
  • performing H&S inspections
  • attending progress meetings.

Updating documentation

When the removal is finished we make sure all the required documentation is complete.  Finally, following the sign-off, we update the buildings’ asbestos management plans including the asbestos register.
